Second edition of the competition, september 2012
The second edition of the Paul Badura-Skoda international piano competition will be held from September 10 to 16 in Vila-seca (Tarragona), Spain.
- Closing Date for Registration: 15 June 2012.
The international jury which is presided by Maestro Paul Badura Skoda will include internationally recognized artists and pedagogues.
The program should consist of the following:
Ist Stage, maximum 25 minutes:
a. One first Movement of a MOZART Sonata
b. One study by CHOPIN (opus 10 and opus 25)
c. One study by CHOPIN (another) or DEBUSSY OR BARTOK
d. One work free of choice of the contestant
2nd Stage, maximum 40-45 minutes:
a. Jeux d'eau de RAVEL
b. One complete BEETHOVEN sonata EXCEPT opus 10 n°1 and 2, opus 14 n°1 and 2, opus 49 opus 1 and 2 and opus 54
c. One work free of choice
Finale, maximum I hour:
a. Three Preludes of the Preludes by Frank MARTIN
b. Impromptu opus 142 n°3 of SCHUBERT
c. Barcarolle OR one Ballade OR one scherzo OR 6 Preludes by CHOPIN
d. rest of program free
